Welcome to the homepage of the Cornish Show Jumping Club… the club run by local people for local people of all ages and abilities. Formed in 2003 our aim is to promote and enhance show jumping as a sport within Cornwall. Our main objective is to organize competitions for all levels of horses, ponies and riders. We will strive to provide facilities of a high standard, which will benefit and develop show jumping amongst the local community and to encourage participation from all. We are always willing to give help and advice to anyone who is unfamiliar with BSJA rules and standards. We are also always glad of anyone who may wish to participate as a non jumper and help at shows on the day.

During 2008 we are planning to organize 10 shows (dates on the Diary page) from April to September split between two outdoor venues . These shows are planned so they will not clash with existing affiliated shows in the county. We hope to provide different judges and course builders as well as classes suited to a wide variety of riders and abilities.

The BSJA's new development policy has great implications to the area's senior jumping. In short the traditional classes of British Novice, Discovery, Newcomers and Foxhunter now require minimum prize funds which would provide financial hardship to most shows including our club. Objections to this regulation from the Area has resulted in the BSJA giving Cornwall some financial dispensation but it was considered by the club's committee not to be enough to ensure financial security for its shows. Consequently CSJC is scheduling open height classes for most of the April and May shows with prize money as last year. We regret being forced to make this decision but think it more important to be able to compete than suffer financial insolvency and thus not be able to hold shows at all. Scheduling for shows later in the season will be considered by the committee and your comments will be most helpful. One new initiative that the BSJA has introduced which the club can financially hold are Amateur classes. The BSJA has agreed that we can incorporate the Amateur qualifiers in an open height class so that everyone has a chance to compete. You will note from our Diary page that we are holding a greater range off unaffiliated classes which will give everyone a taste of competing without joining the BSJA. If you do wish to join please visit the BSJA website which has all the information on new membership packages for people who have not been members for the past 3 years. We will be holding Welsh Masters qualifiers and also 'David Broome' qualifiers at all heights, please see the Diary page. We will also be holding a Championship points series for all Club members competing in our unaffiliated competitions ( two unaffiliated classes scheduled for each show)

Junior classes will be much the same as last year with medals to be awarded to each winner and numnahs given to the most successful combinations at the end of the season.

New Members are always made very welcome and our Membership fees are as follows: Junior £15. Senior Jumping £25. Associate/Supporter £15.
